Tips for Your Own Summer Reset

Summer naturally supports us in letting go and softening. The warmth of the sun, longer daylight hours, and a general slowing down invite us to step out of the mental rush and into the body’s wisdom. More time outdoors reconnects us with natural rhythms, and that connection can gently peel away layers of stress, tension, and distraction. When we allow ourselves to slow down and breathe a little deeper, something shifts. We begin to feel more present, more open - and more available for healing and change. 


Many people find that during this time of year, they're moving their bodies and focusing on external and outside so here are ways to stay connected with internal whilst outdoors. Most people leave their somatic hypnotherapy sessions feeling grounded, lighter, and more attuned to what they truly need - often with a renewed sense of clarity and calm. 


Tips for Your Own Summer Reset 


While somatic hypnotherapy is powerful on its own, here are a few ways to deepen the benefits at home:  

Take mindful pauses: Lie in the grass, feel the sun on your skin, and simply notice your breath. Let the world slow with you. 

Notice thirst signals: It is important to keep hydrated.  

Book time for yourself: Prioritise moments that nourish you – whether it’s a quiet walk, a nap in the shade, journaling, or a session that helps you reconnect. 


You don’t need to overhaul your life to feel more at ease. Small, intentional steps can ripple outwards - gently transforming how you move through your day. 


What have I been up to? 


On a more personal note - and this is something I don’t tend to do often - I wanted to share a little glimpse into my own journey. I’ve always kept my personal world fairly private, but recently I’ve felt a shift. There’s something powerful about letting ourselves be seen, even in small ways, and I’m learning to embrace that more. So here goes... 


I recently bought a campervan, and it’s been one of the most liberating decisions I’ve made. The sense of freedom it brings is hard to put into words - waking up to new views, being immersed in nature, and having the flexibility to follow where my energy wants to go, not just where the calendar says I should be. It’s allowed me to reconnect with the quieter parts of myself, the ones that thrive when there’s less noise and more sky. 


This adventure has become an extension of my own reset - a living, breathing practice in slowing down, exploring without urgency, and remembering what really matters. Whether it’s a peaceful forest morning, a spontaneous beach walk, or or simply brewing coffee in unfamiliar surroundings, taking in whatever the moment offers, these experiences are becoming part of my own healing and creative rhythm.
